Video Poker is a beloved game that can be gambled on in casinos throughout the globe, or in your house on your PC, using a net account. The rules are very simple and consist of the player trying to get the greatest mixture of cards as you can in order to win money. On this account it is much the same as a normal game of poker, without the interaction with other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless here.

The game of Video Poker begins when the gambler inserts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A 5 card hand will then be "handed out" on the video screen.

The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.

After the bettor has chosen which cards he would like to keep, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards are given out if desired. The game is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.

Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payment schedule can change from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable enthusiasts are agile enough to select the most beneficial machine every time.

After the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that has been won. Further, some styles of the game give the gambler an opportunity to double their winnings, in which case another game is played. There are also variations among individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
