Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be enjoyed in casinos around the world, or alternatively at home on your PC, using a web account. The game rules are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player trying to get the greatest mixture of cards achievable in order to acquire money. In this respect it’s very similar as a regular game of poker, without the interaction with any other players. Of course, tactics used in a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker begins when the player puts credits (whether it’s tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and presses the deal button. A 5 card hand will then be "dealt" on the video screen.

The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now choose which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.

After the bettor has decided on which cards he wishes to retain, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards are needed they will be handed out. The hand is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.

Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can range from game to game, so that skillful bettors are agile enough to select the most money-making game each time.

As soon as the first round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Further, some styles of the game give the gambler an opportunity to increase their profits, in which instance another round is played. There are also variations among individual machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
